The Learning Commons, on the 3rd floor of 433 First Avenue, offers a range of study spaces for NYU Dental and Nursing students. They range from individual study carrels and comfortable seating to group study rooms that can accommodate from five to ten persons. Registered nursing and dental students with an active NetID are eligible to use the Learning Commons.

The Learning Commons is open 24 hours a day and is staffed from 7:30am to 9:30pm Monday to Friday.

General Policies
- Registered NYUCN and NYUCD students with an active NetID are eligible to use the Learning Commons
- Eating and drinking is prohibited in the Learning Commons of the 3rd floor. To locate a designated dining area around campus, please visit the NYU Dining page. This site will continue to be updated as more spaces are added.
- While navigating the NYU campus, please familiarize yourself with Keep Each Other Safe: Everyday Basics.
- Students should be courteous to fellow students by refraining from making unnecessary noise. Cell phones should be silenced
- Students are responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the Learning Commons
- Trash should be collected and deposited into the appropriate receptacles
- Tables and chairs should be re-positioned to original locations after use
- Tobacco and alcohol use is prohibited
- Failure to clean group study rooms after use may result in denial of room reservation privileges
- Personal materials should not be left unattended in the group or individual study rooms while in class, for extended periods of time, or overnight. NYU is not responsible for lost or stolen items
Group Study Room Information
Group Study rooms are reserved through the MARS scheduling system.
There are 19 group study rooms available for NYUCD and NYUCN students in the Learning Commons:
- 15 rooms accommodate up to five persons (two person minimum)
- 2 rooms accommodate up to six persons (two person minimum)
- 2 rooms accommodate up to ten persons (four person minimum)
Group Study Room Policies
- Reservations may be made up to 14 days in advance for two (2) hours maximum per day.
- Confirmation of a reservation will be sent via email. Proof of reservation must be shown when requested.
- A reservation will be considered cancelled if groups do not arrive within 10 minutes of the scheduled reservation
- Single users in a group study room (with or without reservations) will be asked to vacate the room for groups of 2 or more studying together.
- Members of the same study group are not allowed to extend study room time beyond 2 hours by reserving under multiple NetIDs.
- Nursing and Dentistry student organizations may book group study rooms with prior approval (Academic Admissions).
